Follow the steps listed in that Microsoft Knowledge Base article to run Scan PST. Important: In many cases, Scan PST requires more than one pass to fix a corruption.
Run Scan PST repeatedly, until it reports that there are no more errors.

When the Directory Server (LDAP) information is configured correctly in the account settings, the functionality is enabled for directory lookups, but Outlook will repeatedly display an error code 17768.
We have contacted Microsoft about this and This will also prevent direct GAL lookups.
